How to Submit Stock Footage to Indian Stock Video: A Step-by-Step Contributor Guide
We have launched Indian Stock Video in 2025 and have reviewed thousands of video submissions on our platform. The clips that get approved quickly all have one thing in common: contributors read and follow the proper guidelines before uploading.
Whether you shoot in India travel, wildlife, waterbodies, city life, aerial, mountains, or monuments, this platform was built for creators like you. Below are the proper guidelines on how to get your footage live.
Step 1: Register as a Contributor
First of all go to indianstockvideo.com and click “Become a Contributor button.” Fill in your all details like name, contact, and a short bio. When your account gets approved, then you will get access to the contributor dashboard.
What we look for:
• Based in India or shooting India-origin content
• Ability to shoot in at least HD (1080p or higher)
Step 2: Prepare Your Files before Uploading
Most of the contributors lose time here. Do not upload raw camera files. Make sure your clips are:
• MP4 or MOV format (H.264 or H.265 codec)
• Minimum resolution: 1920x1080. We prefer 4K.
• Length: 5 to 60 seconds per clip
• No watermarks, logos, or burnt-in text
• Stable footage if handheld, apply basic stabilisation
Also, if your clip features people whose faces are visible, you need a signed model release. For private properties or branded locations, a property release is required. We offer templates for both inside your dashboard.
Step 3: Upload and Add Metadata
Login into your contributor dashboard and upload your clips. For each clip, you will need to add:
1. Title: Be specific. “Aerial View of Amber Fort at Sunrise, Jaipur” is better than “Fort Video.”
2. Description: 2–3 sentences are required to describe what is in the shot, the location, and the mood.
3. Keywords: Add 5-10 relevant tags. Include location, subject, mood, and shoot style (e.g. drone, time-lapse, close-up).
4. Category Select the best-fit category: Aerial, Wildlife, Culture, City Life, Nature, monument, and mountain etc.
Step 4: Review and Approval
Our editorial team reviews each and every clip before it goes live on our platform. We always follow the proper guidelines, such as technical requirements, content relevance, and metadata accuracy. Most of the clips get reviewed within 2–4 business days, and sometimes it takes more time.
If a clip is rejected, you will receive feedback explaining why. Common reasons include shaky footage, poor lighting, missing releases, or content that does not fit our India-focused library. You can fix and resubmit.
If your clip is rejected and does not follow our proper guideline, you will receive feedback explaining why your clip got rejected. Common reasons include shaky footage, poor lighting, missing releases, or content that does not fit our India-focused library. You can again fix and resubmit.
Step 5: Earn When Your Clips Sell
When buyers license your clip, you earn a commission every time. Contributors get paid monthly. If you have uploaded more clips and they are live on our platform, and the better your metadata, the more likely buyers are to find your work and you earn more commission.
A Few Things That Actually Help
• Upload in batches around festivals, seasons, or news cycles demand spikes at these times.
• Niche content (rural India, tribal culture, lesser-known forts) gets fewer competitors and more serious buyers.
• Good thumbnails matter the first frame of your clip is what buyers see in search results.
